People are buzzing about the Busy Bees! We are absolutely delighted to announce that in the past few weeks the school garden at Rowledge C of E Primary School and the Busy Bees Gardening & Wildlife Club have been chosen to be the lucky recipients of four grants to support the wonderful work being undertaken in the school garden. We are pleased to let our supporters know that we have been awarded grants from: - The Farnham Round Table - The RHS as part of their Connected Communities Project - East Hampshire District Councillor David Ashcroft - Hampshire County Councillor Mark Kemp-Gee The funds are going to be put to good use and, along with a generous donation from the Friends of Rowledge School charity, will allow the Club to: - purchase and install a part glazed potting and storage shed in the school grounds for use by the pupils; - design and have made a bespoke Market Cart from reclaimed materials on which the pupils will maintain a permanent herb garden and offer their produce to local residents outside the school gates; and - purchase and install a dedicated "pollinator friendly" raised planter within the school grounds for the children to plant and maintain. We would like to pass on our thanks to these wonderful contributors and the volunteers and local residents who continue to support the team's work in the garden. Bring on the spring!
