We would like to give a big shout out and “well done” to Athena in Year 2, our first Nature Detective for October! 👏
Athena and her mum spotted this beautiful Eurasian Jay (known as Jays here in the U.K.) and managed to grab some photos which was good going given how shy Jays typically are. ⭐️ Athena’s cool fact is that Jays are skilful mimics of other birds and animals. When threatened, they are likely to imitate the calls of tawny owls, sparrowhawks and even domestic cats. ⭐️ Well done Athena - a certificate will be winging its way to you at the end of the month! 👏
