🍁 🍂 🍃 what a beautiful sunny surprise everyone got to enjoy today! Thanks to our wonderful volunteers today, Alex May and Liv, we had a jam packed afternoon of gardening and wildlife.
Year 2 enjoyed a pond dipping session where we found our first ever adult newt in the pond! We think it was a female palmate newt but will be sending the photos off to the Farnham Biodiversity Partnership who are keen to hear about any amphibions we find on site. The children were also fascinated by a dragonfly nymph which we found and which Athena kindly showed around with some very gentle handling. 👏 Donnie spotted a very cool water louse and Jenson found a lovely shiny beetle which was too small to see other than through a magnifying glass. Great job guys!
